2010-11-15 : Bailiffs Prepare to Visit Council Debtors
A council in North Norfolk is to crackdown on businesses that have deliberately not paid their business rates.
From Monday 22nd November, bailiffs will be visiting approximately 58 businesses who owe the council in the region of £77,727. If arrangements are not made to pay, goods and property will be seized to be sold at auction to repay the debt.
The crackdown is expected to go on for two weeks or more. People with outstanding debts are urged to contact the bailiff sooner rather than later. They are also advised to talk to the Council about possible benefits, discounts and exemptions they may be entitled to.
Ruddle Merz have helped recover thousands of pounds for their clients, not only from reducing business rates but also by claiming for empty space relief and material changes in circumstances. For a free business rate review contact us on 0800 883 0353 or email enquiries@ruddlemerz.co.uk.
