2009-02-03 : RUDDLE MERZ RELOCATES TO EDGE-OF-TOWN NEW BUILD DEVELOPMENT
Law firm Nelsons has completed the freehold purchase of a 4448sq ft office at Oakham Office Park for Rutland based business rates specialist Ruddle Merz Limited.
Relocating from its High Street, Oakham premises, Ruddle Merz are the first occupants to move into Oakham Office Park on the Hawksmead Estate, a 30-acre mixed-use, edge-of-town new build development by Rugby Investments.
The new office, which has been designed with energy efficiency, low carbon footprint and low running costs, is three times the size of the company's former town centre premises and was purpose-built to Ruddle Merz's specifications.

Commenting on the property purchase, CEO at Ruddle Merz, Tim Bonham says: "We have been looking for a suitable new HQ for the business for some time and Oakham Office Park is perfect. James and the team at Nelsons ensured the process of purchasing this new property was managed very efficiently and we are delighted to have finally moved in."
Nelsons' partner and head of the Real Estate team, James Coningsby acted for Ruddle Merz on the deal. He comments: "I'm pleased to say that all went pretty smoothly, from the production of the initial heads of terms through exchange of conditional contracts, the grant of planning permission and a fairly lengthy construction period right up to completion and registration. The directors of Ruddle Merz - with whom Nelsons has dealt over a number of years - are a pleasure to work with."
A leading commercial property business rates specialist, Ruddle Merz provides occupiers, owner-occupiers and property owners with a range of professional services covering business space issues and business rates reductions. Ruddle Merz work with around 1300 clients nationwide across a range of sectors, including industrial, office, leisure, hotels, retail and healthcare and have saved clients over £62m on business rates since 2005.
The new building will be officially opened by David Samworth CBE DL President of Samworth Brothers on 17 February followed by a small celebration.
