Business rates
Current rating legislation restricts ratepayers to only one appeal per compiled list entry; we feel it is crucial to employ a firm with the right level of expertise, who know what action is the most appropriate to take and have the experience and know-how to achieve the best outcome from rating appeal negotiations. If you would like more information on this subject, our Business Rates Audit is a 'no-cost, no commitment' way of providing occupiers with our specialist view on whether an assessment could or should be appealed.
Ruddle Merz negotiators can ensure that you do not have the wrong assessment which can cost your business very substantial savings over the 5 years of the rating list. Hard earned revenue simply wiped-off the bottom line.
Negotiating with the rating authority is not an extra curricular activity or one to be delegated to a general practice surveyor. The negotiations will be tough, where detailed knowledge of the new rules, precedent and industry experience will count. The specialist skills within our team are combined to give expertise in every aspect of the appeal procedure including valuation analysis, legislation, site inspection, bill analysis and all relevant negotiations.
